5-HTP is obtained, among other things, from the seeds of Griffonia simplicifolia. Caution: Not recommended when taking certain forms of antidepressants. Consult a doctor.
-
Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera or winter cherry) is traditionally used in Ayurveda. The root extract we use contains 7% withanolides.
-
Taurine is a non-proteinogenic amino acid involved in various bodily functions. Large amounts are found, among other things, in the brain, where taurine contributes to the stability of nerve cells and also functions as a neurotransmitter.
-
L-tryptophan is an amino acid that can be metabolised by gut bacteria into indole. It is an essential amino acid that functions, among other roles, as a precursor to serotonin and melatonin. In food, L-tryptophan can be found for example in cashew nuts, seeds and oats.
-
Magnesium plays an important role in the function of the nervous system. Magnesium is found in many plant-based foods. Good sources include legumes, whole grains, seeds, kernels, nuts, dark green leafy vegetables and also mineral water.
-
Green tea (Camellia sinensis) is rich in the non-proteinogenic amino acid L-theanine. The extract we use contains 60% L-theanine.
-
Vitamin C is one of the vitamins for which requirements are increased when taking oestrogen-containing preparations such as the contraceptive pill. You need vitamin C for various metabolic processes, including the immune system, thyroid function, liver function and for the healthy formation of skin, hair and connective tissue. Vitamin C is found in many fruits and vegetables, especially wild fruits such as sea buckthorn or rosehip, but also in citrus fruits, cabbage and even potatoes.
-
Zinc plays an important role throughout metabolism. Its function as a cofactor in countless metabolic pathways is especially important, as well as its role in the immune system, in the formation of sex hormones and in the healthy development of skin, hair, nails and mucous membranes. Zinc intake is generally considered critical, and requirements are further increased by taking the contraceptive pill. Good plant-based sources of zinc include legumes, whole grains, corn, oats, nuts and dark green leafy vegetables.
-
Niacin belongs to the group of B vitamins and plays an important role, particularly in the liver, as an antioxidant. Niacin can be formed in the body from tryptophan. You can find tryptophan in protein-rich foods such as nuts, legumes, whole grains and dark green leafy vegetables. Niacin is also found directly in legumes such as peanuts and cashew nuts, as well as, for example, mushrooms.
-
Vitamin E is the most important antioxidant among the fat-soluble vitamins and protects, among other things, hormones of the adrenal glands, the pituitary gland and the gonads from free radicals.
-
Saffron flower extract comes from the lily plant Crocus sativus. The main active substances in saffron are crocins and safranal. The extract we use contains 3% crocins and 2% safranal. Note: saffron should not be consumed during pregnancy.
-
Vitamin B12 has a relatively high storage capacity in the body. Requirements are increased due to a purely plant-based diet, absorption disorders or taking the contraceptive pill. Vegan users in particular should therefore ensure adequate intake, as vitamin B12 is important for a healthy nervous system, a functioning immune system and for the growth of cells and DNA. Plant-based foods do not contain reliable amounts of bioavailable vitamin B12. If you do not consume animal products, it is important to use a nutrient supplement and/or fortified products. We use methylcobalamin in our products.
-
Vitamin B6 plays a role in serotonin metabolism. A high intake of animal, protein-rich foods further increases the requirement for vitamin B6. Good plant-based sources include potatoes, bananas, legumes, nutritional yeast flakes, dark green leafy vegetables and nuts. Make sure to include raw foods in your diet, as vitamin B6 is very sensitive to heat.
-
Folic acid is stored in the body only in small amounts. The contraceptive pill increases the requirement for folic acid. After stopping the pill, it can take up to 3 months for normal blood levels to be restored. This is particularly important if the pill is discontinued due to a desire to conceive. Folic acid is found in many plant-based foods such as legumes, whole grains, wheat germ, dark green leafy vegetables, cabbage and nutritional yeast flakes. Since folic acid is a very sensitive vitamin, you should ensure that your diet includes fresh and minimally processed foods wherever possible.

Over 50,000 happy women
who were able to solve their complaints with our products and are happy.
Depressed during the period:
A widespread phenomenon
Many women report experiencing depressive feelings during their period. These emotional fluctuations are mostly hormone-related and can take different forms – from mild sadness to severe depressive episodes.
PMDD: Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder
PMDD experiences show that 3–8% of all women suffer from this severe form of PMS. Characteristic symptoms include:
Extreme anger and aggression
Deep depression and hopelessness
Severe sadness without an obvious cause
Emotional instability and irritability
Hormonal causes of emotional fluctuations
The symptoms arise from complex interactions between oestrogen, progesterone and neurotransmitters such as serotonin. In the second half of the cycle, these hormones drop, which can have a significant impact on mood.
PMS antidepressants: treatment approaches
Experiences with PMS antidepressants show varying success rates. Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are frequently prescribed, as they can be taken either continuously or only during the luteal phase.
It is important to distinguish between:
Anger and aggression caused by hormone deficiency
Actual depressive disorders
Situational emotional reactions
Natural support for mood
Studies show that certain micronutrients can support emotional stability during the cycle:
B vitamins for neurotransmitter synthesis
Magnesium for nerve function
Omega-3 fatty acids for mood regulation
What is serotonin?
Serotonin is a neurotransmitter, meaning it transmits signals between nerve cells. It plays a key role in mood regulation and is therefore often referred to as the “happiness hormone”. In depression or anxiety, and in the context of PMDD, disturbances in serotonin balance can be observed.
Serotonin is also a precursor to melatonin, which is involved in the sleep–wake cycle, and it plays a role in regulating appetite and satiety. There is evidence that serotonin levels fluctuate during the luteal phase, contributing to common symptoms such as mood swings, insomnia or food cravings.
What are adaptogens?
Adaptogens are a group of plants believed to increase the body’s resistance to physical, emotional or environmental stressors. For a plant to be considered an adaptogen, it must not disrupt normal physiological processes and must be free of side effects. Adaptogens are intended to act against as many different stressors as possible and help normalise body functions.
