Once our first health marker is certified, we launch and your kit ships. Collect your sample at home, send it back, and see your results in our app.

  • Together with you, we want to build Europe's first menstrual blood biobank: a collection of samples and data that finally allows research to study what has been overlooked in women's health. Until now, it's mainly labs, pharma companies and research institutions that benefit from health data. We believe the woman the sample comes from should finally benefit too. That's why we share knowledge, results and, if your sample goes into research, compensation with you.

  • With the Membership, you become part of the first movement bringing menstrual blood into research. You get access to knowledge, experts and formats around your cycle, and you help build a data foundation that doesn't exist yet.

  • The Membership costs €69 per quarter, which is about €23 per month. You're billed every three months, starting on the day you join. This covers everything in your Membership: content, workshops, expert access, research updates and the option to take part in studies.

  • Your Membership renews automatically every quarter, so you never lose access to content, workshops and research updates. You'll receive a reminder by email 7 days before each renewal. You can cancel at any time.

  • We developed a standardized pre-analytical method, the foundation that allows samples to be collected at home and reliably analyzed in the lab. The method is being validated together with SGS. A first study with the University of Rostock showed that vitamins A and D can be measured in menstrual blood (Whitbread et al., J Clin Med 2024). We're at the beginning, and that's exactly why we need you.

  • Yes, you can cancel anytime.

  • As a member, you decide whether to release your sample for research. If you agree, you become a participant in a specific research project. Beforehand, you receive all the information about the study: what it's about, who's involved and what happens to your sample. No sample is used for research without your explicit consent.

  • Yes. If your sample goes into a research project, you receive compensation for your time and effort of up to €250. The exact amount depends on the project and will be shared with you transparently before you give your consent.

  • The Membership costs €69 per quarter, which is about €23 per month. You're billed every three months, starting on the day you join. This covers everything in your Membership: content, workshops, expert access, research updates and the option to take part in studies.

  • Your Membership renews automatically every quarter, so you never lose access to content, workshops and research updates. You'll receive a reminder by email 7 days before each renewal. You can cancel at any time.

  • Our test kit is currently going through the regulatory approval process. As soon as it's approved, members will be the first to know.

  • The test kit is not included in the current Membership price. Once it's approved, the kit is billed as a second payment. You'll be informed of the exact price in advance and decide for yourself whether you want to order it. Nothing is charged automatically.

  • No. The test kit does not replace a medical examination and does not provide a diagnosis. If you have any symptoms, please always consult your doctor.

  • Yes. Besides the regular Membership, you can choose a sponsor tier to support the research further or give other women access:

    • €10 Founding Supporter: a one-time contribution to building the biobank

    • €99 Founding Member: support the research and become part of our founding community

    • €999 Sponsor a Woman: fund a Membership for a woman who couldn't otherwise afford it

    • €9,999 and €99,999: for people and companies who want to shape the future of women's health with us. Get in touch.

  • Yes, at any time and with no minimum term. Your Membership ends at the end of the quarter you've already paid for, and you keep full access until then. You can cancel directly in your account or by emailing hello@theblood.io.

  • Credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and SEPA direct debit.

  • Yes, at any time and without giving a reason. Your sample and data will then no longer be used for new research. Results that have already been analyzed and anonymized cannot be removed.

  • Your data belongs to you. We process it in accordance with the GDPR, store it on servers in the EU and only use it for research if you have given explicit consent. Read more in our privacy policy.

  • No. We don't share personal data. For research projects, we only work with pseudonymized or anonymized data, and only with your consent.

  • For everyone aged 18 and over who menstruates and wants to become part of research in women's health.
