What makes the product special

You can’t do anything externally against hormonal acne and blemished skin? Oh yes, you definitely can!

Hormonal or stress-related acne, spots and skin blemishes are caused by a hormonal imbalance, but they are also always linked to a disrupted skin barrier. Skincare can offer lasting support here!

fenou’s hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic skincare innovation, clear skin, targets this precisely by promoting the natural repair of the skin barrier.

fenou’s cream uses advanced OLT® technology, which imitates the natural barrier structure of healthy skin and supports regeneration by promoting the formation of the skin’s own ceramides and free fatty acids. Through a combination of glycyrrhetinic acid, niacinamide, capryloyl salicylic acid and a range of antioxidants, our cream provides immediate relief, promotes skin renewal and protects against environmental stressors.

fenou’s cleansing foam cleanses gently and effectively without disrupting the skin barrier. Aloe vera and hyaluronic acid provide hydration and help counter dryness, while zinc PCA stabilises and soothes the skin microbiome. With a pH of 5.0 to 5.5, the foam supports the skin’s natural acid mantle and promotes a healthy complexion.

Creme:
AQUA, OLUS OIL, GLYCERIN, NIACINAMIDE, ISOSTEARYL ISOSTEARATE, PENTYLENE GLYCOL, HYDROGENATED PHOSPHATIDYLCHOLINE, BEHENYL ALCOHOL, LIMNANTHES ALBA SEED OIL, MORINGA OLEIFERA SEED OIL, ISOPENTYLDIOL, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, CAPRYLOYL SALICYLIC ACID, COPERNICIA CERIFERA CERA, STEARYL GLYCYRRHETINATE, CAESALPINIA SPINOSA GUM, SODIUM ANISATE, TROXERUTIN, CELLULOSE GUM, CHONDRUS CRISPUS POWDER (CARRAGEENAN), SODIUM HYDROXIDE, CERATONIA SILIQUA GUM, TETRAHYDRODIFERULOYLMETHANE, TRIFOLIUM PRATENSE FLOWER EXTRACT, XANTHAN GUM, GLUCOSE, TOCOPHEROL

  • Olus oil is a plant-based oil used in cosmetics to help prevent moisture loss in the skin. It forms a film on the skin and makes it smooth and soft.

  • The Glycerin in our formula improves moisture retention in the skin. It has a keratolytic effect, meaning it dissolves excess skin cells, supports the skin barrier, stabilises skin collagen and therefore skin elasticity, and accelerates healing processes.

  • Niacinamide is a valuable ingredient in cosmetics. It has a calming, rebalancing and anti-inflammatory effect on the skin. Niacinamide can reduce skin hyperpigmentation and regulates sebum production. It supports skin regeneration and collagen synthesis, helping to smooth fine lines.

  • Phosphatidylcholine can be used to treat acne vulgaris grades 1 and 2. Clinical studies show a reduction in blackheads by over 60% after 28 days and a reduction in skin disease signs by over 70%. The linoleic acid content in the skin (which inhibits 5-alpha-reductase) increases significantly.

In hydrogenated phosphatidylcholine used as a cream base, long-chain skin lipids are attached under pressure. This gives it a structure similar to that of healthy skin and can support the rebuilding of the skin barrier in damaged skin. The process is called ortholamellar technology (OLT). Manufacturer studies have shown that OLT can help restructure the lipid barrier of very dry skin to resemble that of healthy skin within 14 days.

  • Carnauba wax (Copernicia cerifera cera) is part of ortholamellar technology. The long-chain lipids of carnauba wax are attached to phosphatidylcholine. This gives the lipid layers additional stability and thereby precisely imitates the stability of the skin’s own lipid layers.

  • The oil of meadowfoam (Limnanthes alba) is very similar in composition to the skin’s own lipid fatty acids. It provides moisture and leaves the skin feeling smooth without being occlusive.

  • The oil of Moringa oleifera is very similar in composition to the skin’s own lipid fatty acids and has a positive effect on skin healing. It provides moisture and leaves the skin smooth without being occlusive.

  • Salicylic acid has a keratolytic effect and very gently removes excess skin flakes without causing irritation. It has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Studies have shown that salicylic acid can reduce fine line formation and skin hyperpigmentation.

  • Stearyl glycyrrhetinate (an ester of glycyrrhizic acid) is a highly effective, skin-soothing active substance derived from licorice root. Glycyrrhizic acid has anti-inflammatory effects.

  • Troxerutin is a natural, water-soluble flavonoid derived from the Japanese pagoda tree. It has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, and can protect cells from UV-B damage. When combined with fat-soluble, antioxidant tocopherol (vitamin E), it provides optimal protection against environmental free radicals.

  • Tetrahydrodiferuloylmethane is a curcumin derivative. Curcumin is a component of turmeric, known for its antioxidant potential. It counteracts environmental free radicals and the resulting skin sensitivities.

  • Extract of red clover (Trifolium pratense) can inhibit 5-alpha-reductase activity in the skin and thereby reduce sebum production, one of the main triggers of blemished skin. Red clover has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, protects against UV damage and, through its regulatory action on oestrogen receptors in the skin, also has anti-ageing benefits.

  • Tocopherol (vitamin E) has antioxidant effects, protects healthy cells from free radicals and supports the structure of cell membranes.

  • The powder from Chondrus crispus (Irish moss) is used in the formula as a thickening agent. In addition, it has a mild abrasive effect and can help remove dead skin particles, while also providing moisturising and anti-inflammatory benefits.

Cleansing foam:
AQUA, SODIUM COCOAMPHOACETATE, DISODIUM LAURYL SULFOSUCCINATE, DECYL GLUCOSIDE, PENTYLENE GLYCOL, GLYCERIN, ASPARTIC ACID, ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF JUICE, SODIUM ANISATE, SODIUM HYALURONATE, PHENETHYL ALCOHOL, ZINC PCA

  • The Glycerin in our formula improves moisture retention in the skin. It has a keratolytic effect, meaning it dissolves excess skin cells, supports the skin barrier, stabilises skin collagen and therefore skin elasticity, and accelerates healing processes.

  • Aloe vera is a succulent plant that grows in dry environments. The gel it stores in its leaves for water retention is used in pharmacology and cosmetics due to its active components. Aloe has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antimicrobial effects and supports wound healing. It has skin-conditioning and skin-soothing properties and prevents the skin from drying out during cleansing.

  • We use a medium-chain hyaluronic acid to counteract skin dehydration caused by cleansing. Hyaluronic acid has moisturising, soothing and conditioning effects.

  • Phenethyl alcohol is a gentle preservative substance with antimicrobial properties. It helps stabilise the formula and protect the product from microbial contamination

  • Zinc has sebum-regulating and soothing effects on the skin. It stabilises the skin microbiome, improves moisture regulation and reduces sebum production by inhibiting 5-alpha-reductase in skin cells.

  • The salt of anisic acid is used to preserve the foamer. In addition, sodium anisate has antibacterial and pH-regulating effects.

What is meant by acne in adults?

Adult acne (acne tarda) refers to the form of acne that appears in adulthood. It often occurs for the first time independently of puberty, usually from the age of 20. The causes are varied. Hormonal or genetic factors may be involved, but stress, an unfavourable diet, environmental influences and skincare habits also affect the development and severity of acne. Externally, adult acne appears mainly on the cheeks, the lower chin area and around the mouth. Because adult acne responds less effectively to conventional acne skincare and can lead to scarring and pigmentation, it is important to choose skincare that supports the skin barrier as well as possible.

What can be done for hormonal acne?

Acne in adults is partly triggered by hormonal factors. On the one hand, an imbalance in androgen levels has a negative effect on the skin. Oestrogen deficiency may also promote hormonal acne. These causes must be balanced from within. Chronic stress leads to the release of stress hormones such as cortisol — and stress hormones influence sebum production. So what helps with hormonal acne? Reducing stress is key. Nutrition should not be neglected either. A high glycaemic load leads to the release of hormones involved in carbohydrate metabolism, which further increase sebum production.

How should acne products work?

Skincare for acne should be specifically adapted to the needs of acne-prone skin. Make sure your skincare:

  • promotes skin regeneration, ideally with biomimetic technologies such as OLT®, which stimulate the body’s own ceramide production

  • provides hydration without being occlusive

  • is anti-inflammatory and contains ingredients that support healing

  • works antimicrobially against harmful bacteria to support a balanced skin microbiome

  • contains antioxidants to counter stress and environmental free radicals

  • regulates sebum and helps prevent pore blockages
